A PRE-COLLEGE SUMMER ACADEMY
ATSU-Truman Healthcare Academy
The ATSU-Truman Healthcare Academy is a summer academy aimed at high school students who will have completed grades 9-11 at the end of the school year. Partnering with A.T. Still University, Truman State University offers high school students interested in a career in the healthcare field a week on campus to learn about health professions through hands-on activities and stimulating discussions. Students live in a residence hall on the Truman campus under the supervision of resident staff and preceptors and participate in a variety of activities held each day.
Student eligibility
To be considered for admission to this residential summer program:
- High school students must have completed the 9th, 10th or 11th grade by June of the Healthcare Academy session,
- Be interested in a healthcare related field,
- Provide school transcripts/grades for a minimum of two years, and
- Provide a contact for an educator to provide a recommendation.
Summer 2025 Dates: June 15-20
All application materials must be received by March 12, 2025.
2025 Tuition: $1,050
Includes courses, housing, meals, activities, t-shirt, and related materials
Application Process
Applications for Summer 2025 are now open, however we will not begin a review until late November. Official acceptances and financial aid/scholarship awards are not sent out until late Spring.
To apply for the ATSU-Truman Healthcare Academy, students must:
- complete the online application (including essays)
- provide two years worth of transcripts
- provide contact for an educator recommendation
- complete Signature Page and submit all requested materials by the deadline.
